TINA/Spice/TPS22914: TINA-TI Simulation result

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am doing the operation simulation of TPS22914C with TINA-TI.

The simulation model was created by downloading snvm667.zip on the TI website and using TINA-TI's Pspice netlist import function.

However, the results are not as expected.

Specifically,

-VIN=3.3V

-A divided voltage of VIN is input to the ON pin (0.5VIN=1.65V).

-Looking at the data sheet, the minimum VIH at the ON pin is 1V, and it should turn on without problems if it is 1.65V.

-However, although the voltage of VOUT rises for a moment, it drops immediately.

Please let me know if there is a cause of the behavior of VOUT.

Hi,

The issue is specific to TINA-TI and the same netlist works properly in Pspice. This behavior should not come in real world.

There is some issue with the way TINA is reading the GTABLE used in model. The model is working as expected when I used voltage controlled current source instead of GTABLE for VIN=3.3V.

I have attached the modified model and simulation results but please note that this model is not validated and can cause issues for other test benches.

Meanwhile, we will try to fix this issue in TINA-TI and if needed will release the updated model (compatible with TINA-TI) to web.

Hi Saket-san,

Could this problem that you identified with the TPS22914 be the same as I had with TPS22963 (May 29th)?

When looking at the datasheet one can assume the two load switches have much in common and the models too I guess.
