TIDA-00662: Frequencies used for measurement?

Part Number: TIDA-00662

Hi,

TIDA-00662 High Performance Capacitive Sensor Front-End Reference Design

1: Does this reference design come with some software? I found a reference to downloadable software, but I am unable to find it.

2: What is the maximum frequency that can be applied to the measurement signal across the capacitor?

Thanks!

  • Hello,

for the software of TIDA-00662 we are referring to our third party mentioned on the Design Folder (http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00662) --> NewTec

Regarding the maximum frequency we will get back to you with further details.

    Regards

    Alex

  • Hello

in the reference design an excitation frequency of 12kHz has been used, running the data converter at a sampling rate of 48KHz. Theoretically the sampling rate can be as high as 192kHz resulting in an exciattion frequency of 48kHz assuming we want to have 4 samples. However, this has not been tested in the system a would require additional validation.

    Regards, Alex

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply. I need to get myself one of these cards. I will talk to NewTec how that can be arranged.

I am quite excited as from the brief looks of it this circuitry may (will) be a great shortcut for me. (I have a need to update a capacitance instrument we've been selling for +25 years.)

    Have a great day!
