Hello
The reference design TIDA-00318 BOM and Schematic is derived from the BQ51003 Evaluation board. This is a good starting point for designs and will support a wide range of coils.
But like all wireless power designs some values will need to change with each application. Coil tuning Cs (C1, C2, C3) and Cd (C4, C5) will need to change with each application due to effect of the TX coil, housing, battery, PCB and other. Coil L value should be measured then used for calculation, Ls' see data sheet for instructions and calculations. The Cs value will use Coil L in free space but uses the Cs value, also see data sheet for calculations.
FOD value is set by R2 and R5, this is a measure of the total power RX has received and reported to the TX. Value used in the reference design is a good starting point from the evaluation board but should not be considered the final value. The measurement of received power and power lost in friendly metal is more complicated and requires measurements with an FOD transmitter of near final product.
Current limit set by commination of R1 and R2 will need to be set to the desired application also.
Standard BQ51003 values used in TIDA-00318 are based around , IWAS-4832FF-50, WR-483250-15M2 or 760308201 coils in the range of 13uH Ls' value. Good coils to start your design with.
