I having issues with simulating the TPS40210 not responding properly when I change the R5 resistor below 7K.. All of the sudden my bode plot gain drops significantly. The R7 and R5 resistor was sized to output 355V. I have calculated all the compensation network based on my spreadsheet and would like to verify using TINA. I would appreciate if someone please shed some light into this issue?.

Hi Jose,

Pleas try to reduce your inductor. You seems hitting the duty cycle limit. Reducing the inductor to enter the DCM such that the required duty cycle can be smaller than the limit.

TPS40210_AVG_minta.TSCHi I have tried reducing the value of the inductor and still not working.. I have as well change the freq from 33k to10k and load from 1000K to 1Meg and it doesnt seems to work.

It only work if I change the feedback lower resistor from 3.5K to 5.7K.. I believed their is a bias issue on the FB pin model of the TPs40210

Hi Jose,

I have looked into the issue. There is a diode connected internally at switching node which has reverse breakdown voltage 200V. When we configure Vout>200V, reverse breakdown occurs. This does not allow the simulator to calculate the DC operating point correctly. Hence, AC results are incorrect as well.

For now please configure your setup for Vout<200V. We will try to revise the model present at TI website by end of this month.

would it be possible to give an update when the model file is available?.. I am currently in the middle of my design calculations and would be good to wrap up the ac response of my circuit.
