Require LAYOUT Review

Part Number: TIDA-00281

Hi,

We made TIDA-00281 board with some of the modifications as listed below. Our application is to run 60V/250W BLDC motor for EV.

(1)We made this board on two-layer PCB.

(2)No Flyback sections used as we have availability of all the power supply.

(3)Use of heavy inductor is omitted.

For more informations you can refer our schematic and compare it with TIDA-00281.

This is our gerber file.

Please review this board gerber.

We want rigorous review for this as we have critical application.

  • Hello Abhi,

I review the schematic and layout from a gate driver and power train perspective and have the following comments.

With the 15kHz to 50kHz operation and MOSFETs used, the HB capacitor value of 100nF should be OK. If there is long switching periods of the high side driver, watch for HB bias droop and consider increasing the 10K gate to source resistance and HB-HS capacitance.

Confirm 12V VDD tolerance and 14V gate to source Zener diodes tolerance, zeners should only limit spikes not Vgs amplitude.

C25 boot capacitor to HS pin, we recommend more direct/shorter trace connections. Avoid large overlapping area of HS switch node and ground. Can induce voltage spikes and noise on ground.

C31 should be close to Q1/Q2 +60V connection and ground of R7. Target short switching current trace loop. I could not confirm C31 location.

The other phases layout looks the same as A Phase. Use same advice as above.

    Regards,
