Hi,

I am planning to use ADS1298 AFE chip for one of my project before that I wanted to evaluate it on ADS1298RECGFE-PDK.

since I am using windows 10 somehow by following E2E posts I was able to successfully install USB driver correctly.

now I am facing issue with ADS129xECG-FE application, the application seems to hang often, presently I am trying to run this application without any ECG simulator just with ADS1298RECGFE-PDK EVM.

I just wanted to know is it the intended behavior as ADS1298  is not able to sense any valid ECG signals or issue is something else.

I was expecting the EVM to pick any noise signals and plot it for analysis but this didn't happen, I hope this will not repeat once I connect valid ECG signals to board.

let me know if same scenario repeats how to resolve it, any small help is appreciated.

    Can you provide any pictures to show what is happening? 

    Do you see any error messages? 

    How is the PDK configured? default? 

    Have you downloaded the device package?

    Hi Alex,

    I have downloaded ADS1298XECGFE-PDK-SW-installer from TI website and installed it in my PC by following the installation instructions.

    I m not clear what you meant by "How is the PDK configured? default? "

    can you elaborate it to understand clearly.

    I have tested Test signal option provided in ADS129XECG-FE application, I was able to witness square waves in ECG analysis tab. Then I changed the option to Normal electrodes and acquired the samples on analysis, these signals are just straight lines and when I try to repeat the process the application doesn't respond it just hangs, nothing works eventually I have to end this task and start the application again(annoying).

    Hi Veera,

    I meant have any jumpers been changed? Have you physically changed anything on the board? 

    This error is typically a software installation issue, damaged board, or invalid jumper configuration. There are many examples on the forum:

    Hi Alex,

    The board is configured with default settings, I haven't changed anything.

    The 2 jumpers MMB0 J13A and MMB0 J13B were made open as was stated in section 2.2, ADS1298RECG-FE Operation point number 2 of sbau181b  document.

    let me know if something else needs to be checked.

    I have tested the board with Test signal and I was able to witness square wave coming cleanly then I connected 15 pin ECG connector to J1. As of now I don't have ECG simulator so I left the electrodes open.

    I was expecting some kind of noise will be picked up by electrodes and this will get plotted on scope for analysis but this didn't happen.

    I was only seeing smooth straight lines, coming to my query is it the intended behavior or I am missing anything?

    Hi Alex,

    This issue is regarding firmware, I have download latest firmware code from web, I have extracted the code from zip file and imported it as project in CCS.

    without modifying any part of code, I tried to generate the build but couldn't as I was encountering build issues. pls see the attached screenshot and provide your input to generate the build successfully.

    I have one more query to be answered, since C5507 DSP is obsolete not recommended for new designs I am planning to use C5517 (recommended by TI) my query is, what all changes should be made in the code so that I can directly port it for C5517 and use it?

    If this is not the right forum to ask this question, let me know where should I post this query.

    Hi Veera,

    What is your y axis scale? If you zoom in far enough are you able to see the noise that you expect? 

    The code is intended to interface with our own hardware so I'm not entirely surprised you're having issues with it building. Also, I'm not sure what will need to be changed to work with the C5517. As you mentioned, I would post on their forum to ask.
