PMP21529: Back Up Supply mode Vbus

Hi E2E,

Good day.

During the back-up supply mode of the PMP21529, I understand that the Vbat range is between 38-55V. However, the Vbus is known to be Vbus_nominal - 0.5V, how can we measure the Vbus_nominal? Or is there any configuration in the device that dictates the value of Vbus_nominal?

Hi Carlo,

During normal charging mode, Vbus is being monitored by UCD through ADC, its value is stored as Vbus_nominal.

Just to clarify, the Vbus_nominal will be stored at UCD3138? What would be the typical range for the Vbus_nominal? Is this within Vbat range?

Hi Carlo,

UCD3138 Keep monitoring the Vbus voltage, the value right before Vbus voltage drop is used as Vbus_nominal. Depends on the application, the Vbus_nominal can be within or out of battery voltage range.
