# PMP10979: Implement adjustable output voltage

Per reference design PMP10979 using LM5119 in parallel, is there a recommended add-on circuit perhaps to the FB2 node that allows some limited output voltage adjustment from 5V to 12V at maximum current of 45A? The add-on circuit is to be control through a voltage of 0-5V.

my application has a max 24V dc input but it requires an external control voltage (0 to 5V ) to adjust the output voltage from 5V to 12V.   Any suggestions?  thanks

• Hi Steve,

The output voltage is controlled by R10 and R11, that connect from VOUT to FB1 on U1.

You can use a 3rd resistor to inject into that node and control the output voltage from 5V to 12V.

• Hi Steve it looks like the image from power stage designer did not come through.

R10 = 16.2K

R11 = 1.30K

Rinj = 11.5K

Rinj connects from FB1 to your control signal 0V to 5V

0V = 12Vout

5V = 5Vout

I'll give it a shot.  Also, since my application only draws 40-45A at most, I might be able to use just one LM5119 section.  Please let me know if this assumption is incorrect.   thanks again!

Your assumption is correct.  For 40-45A one LM5119 will work just fine.
