TIDA-060025: Comparator to TDC Voltage

Part Number: TIDA-060025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC7201

Hello!

I noticed that the comparator output is 5V and it goes to a stop pin on the TDC7201. According to the TDC7201 the max voltage on the pin is 3.6V. Isn't the comparator in this design going to damage the TDC7201 part?

Thanks!

  • Hello Sander,

Good catch! You are correct, 5V at the output of the comparator would exceed the max voltage specifications into any pin on the TDC7201. The schematic on the reference design should have been updated. R52 should be 50Ohms not 0 Ohms as it is currently displayed in the reference design schematic. Thanks for letting us know, we will update the schematic to the correct version as soon as possible.

    Thank you,

    Sima
