TIDA-060026: Board set up help (BASIC)

Part Number: TIDA-060026

Hello,

I have just begun working with the TIDA-060026 board connected to a PPC Motherboard and need some guidance.

Following the DESIGN GUIDE, the first question I have is how do I connect multiple boards to get the 5.1 and 7.1 set ups. I have the required 2x TIDA-060026 and 1x TAS5825 boards.
Just don't know what to use to get the signal form one board to the next. I have finished the steps in the guide up to and including the executing the I2C code.txt successfully.

Having done all that and then going into the PPC3 APPS to start tuning the drivers I don't see the option to use the 5825 and the 5720 chips to do a 2.1 set up.

Sorry for the beginner questions but I am still very new to the TI world and the design guide isn't enough.

Thank you for help!

Matt Foreman

  • Hi Matt,

Did you make sure to change the I2C addresses so that every part has its own dedicated address?

To get the I2C and I2S signals from one another will require using a grabber to connect the test points to each other.

We actually don't have a dedicated GUI for this board.

  • Thank you for the input.

Where do I get bore information on how to change the address the parts? Is there an "idiot's" guide to I2C?

Like I said I've just started working with these boards. My 90's Rock and Roll Sound tech isn't helping.

    Thanks again!

  • Hi Matt,

That's completely fine. We are here to help!

You can find the I2C address information in the datasheets for these devices. However I always make sure to include the different I2C addresses and resistor values needed in the schematic for our boards.
