TIDA-01573: R5~R8 of the TIDA-01573.sch

Part Number: TIDA-01573
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG1020EVM-006

Hello:

what's the purpose of the resistors R5~R8 in the the schematic TIDA-01573.sch?

Are they the simulated resistance of the laser diode?

Or they are the current limiting resistors to control the peak current?

If the real laser diode is mounted, should the R5~R8 be removed? or they should be kept but to control the laser diode peak current ?

thanks

Zhang

  • Hi Zhang,

Thanks for reaching out on e2e about tida-01573.

This tida is the same as lmg1020EVM-006. And more details can be found in section 2 of this EVM user's guide.  R5-R8 represents the simulated resistance of the laser. Before testing a laser diode these resistors should be removed. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks,
