Hi Champs,

for this TIDA the figure 13 from the users guide does not match the schematic.

Could you please check the emitter connection and confirm which one is correct? Connection to VCC1 or DGND?

Could you also give a short explanation which role this transistor Q2 plays in the design?

    Hello Simon,

    thank you for catching this. The figure 13 in the TIDA-01599 design guide is wrong. The schematics is correct.

    The emitter of the transistor Q2 must be connected to VCC1.

    In case of an active low STO signal Q2 short circuits the VCC1 supply pin of the ISO5852 to GND and prevents potential reverse biasing through the ESD substrate diode of the ISO5852 in case of an active high PWM signal.
