TIDA-00834: Capable of Monitoring & Filtering Harmonic content ???

Dear Sir/Madam,

               Currently, we are doing R&D in Protection field so we have chosen TIDA-00834 card with ADS8588S Evaluation Board (EVM) for our specified applications. Before purchasing those two cards. I need to clarify my few doubts and aspects to technical person regarding those two specified boards.  If it is possible, Kindly arrange a callback to clarify the doubts. Also, Im listing my doubts as a summary.



1. Whether the TIDA-00834 card can mitigate Harmonics content, also is there any possibility to monitor the harmonics order & filter the harmonic content.

2. Zero crossing detection can be accomplishes only by getting pure sinusoidal waveforms.

3. ADS8588S Evaluation board (Software purchase & Licensing)

    Thank you for considering TIDA-00834 and ADS8588S.

    This is a signal conditioning AFE board with potential divider for voltage measurement and CT for current measurement to showcase ADC performance.. 

    If you have to measure the harmonics you will have to implement the same in the firmware. If you want to remove the harmonics, you can do that by hardware filter. The ADC sampling rate is 200KSPS and so you can capture any number of harmonics that you want.


    Hardware ZCD can be achieved by using a pure sinewave. You can filter the harmonics before applying the input to comparator. Alternatively you could do the ZCD detection in the firmware.


    You could purchase the ADS8588S EVM for evaluation. 

    TIDA-00834 board is not available for sale. The gerbers and the design files are available on You can use the same to fabricate the board.
