TIDA-01393: Are the Output Voltage vs Time curves indicated in Figure-32 ( PMIC Sequencing) with no load or with a load, Requesting further information on the same

Part Number: TIDA-01393
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS650864

Hello,

Figure-32 of TIDA-01393 indicates Output voltage vs Time for various rails but doesn't talk about the load on the rails. Can you please shed some light on the load applied (if any) on these rails?

Thank you!

  • Hello,

Figure 32 was taken with no load.

The regulators have a fixed slew rate though so unless the capacitor charge current + load current > current limit, the slope should be mostly the same for loaded or unloaded. There would probably be some slight variation in the shape between 0V and 0.4V (minimum voltage setting, where it is less controlled), but that would be fairly minor. You can see a more zoomed in version in Figure 5-2 (Example BUCK3 Converter Start-Up) in the TPS650864 datasheet which shows the little bump in the first voltage step.
