TIDA-010045: Suggested alternate to CSD18541F5 MOSFET

Part Number: TIDA-010045

Hey TI,

I am constructing a IEPE interface using the TIDA 010045 and TIDA 01471 ref designs. I am mopstly hand soldering to the prototypes.

Can you recommned a MOSFET in a package a bit easier for hand soldering to the CSD18541F5 60-V N-Channel FemtoFET™ MOSFET, used in the constant current source for the TIDA 010045 design?

Thanks,

Dan

  • Hi Dan,

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, the FemtoFETs can be difficult to hand solder. I'm including a link below to the FemtoFET SMT guidelines that include some instructions on rework. FET packages that may be easier to hand solder include the SON packages in 2x2mm (Q2), 3.3x3.3mm (Q3) and 5x6mm (Q5, Q5A, Q5B). Also, I'm assuming you don't need a 60V FET. Take a look at CSD17571Q2, CSD17313Q2 and CSD18543Q3A. Unfortunately, TI does not make any FETs in SOT23 or similar packages. Hope this helps. Feel free to respond if you need more information.
