PMP22504: Help to double check the schematic

Dear Team,

Our customer referred our reference design to design the full-bridge rectifier.

When they test the circuit, AC input is short circuit.

I have reviewed the schematic, it's okay for me.

Could you help to double check it?

Hi Jimmy,

I checked the circuit in the diagram and also verify it to be correct. Perhaps the customer has an assembly issue?

More clear picture as below

Customer has 2 PCS damage cause output shot circuit.

Could you guide us how to find the root cause.

Vin = 28Vac

Is it possible that cause by the inruch current or voltage spike?

Could you help to check MOS spec?

Hi Jimmy,

Sorry for the delay. I checked the MOSFETS (60V), they should be fine based on the voltage and power requirements, I don't think an inrush would damage the parts, but I don't know the load. Do they have a lot of capacitance after the bridge? I can't really think of another reason for the parts to fail, unless something is populated wrong on the board.

Hi Jimmy,

I am not 100% sure, but it appears to be some sort of glitch when the current starts to cross into the other direction.

What current is being measured and what is the load?

I also found the similar waveform in LM7610 Q1 datasheet as below.

Could you guide us how to resolve this spike in Vac input?
