PSpice for TI: No shortcut or start menu entry after installation (Can Only run as admin)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Hi,

I have installed Pspice for Ti. I have following Problems:

1) There is no start menu entry 2) I can find capture.exe at C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\tools\bin, but I can run that only as admin. 3) If I open capture.exe normally it throws a error. 4) there is no uninstall file in control panel.

I have seen similar problems in the thread, and the TI engineer asked few questions. Am answering them below:

1. Is the issue that you have installed the tool, and after installation you are not able to see the tool entry in Windows programs?

Ans: Yes

2. Do you see a folder at C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\tools\bin that contains capture.exe?

Ans:Yes, I see capture.exe at C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\tools\bin

3. Were you logged in as the admin account or the non-admin account?

Ans: I logged in as non-admin account

4.2, If you logged in using a non-admin account, did you right click on PSpice-For-TI_setup.exe and selected Run as administrator and entered the admin account's credentials?

Yes, our IT engineer installed Pspice-for-Ti with admin privilege's. Which I don't have.

Hope I answered all questions in advance  :D. Is there a solution to this problem ?

  • Hello Ravi,

There are likely licensing issues because someone else installed PSpice for TI on your machine. The license and installation files may be linked to the administrator, rather than to your account.

Could you install Pspice for TI using your non-admin account? Admin privileges are not required in order to install PSpice for TI.

    Thank you,

    Jackie
