TIDA-01632: This reference design uses a 3.3V regulator - TPS7B8233QDGNRQ1

Part Number: TIDA-01632

I was looking for inspiration  from this example - TIDA-01632 BLE Car Access Satellite Node Reference design.

It utilises the regulator TPS7B8233QDGNRQ1

On its specification the output is is 5v(nom) 3.3V Min

It is used to supply the CC2640R2FTWRGZRQ1 which Normal operation: is 1.8 to 3.8 V

I do not understand, the datasheet of the regulator, states it is fixed output options of 3.3V or 5V.

I have read the datasheet too many times now and cannot see any differing part numbers or configurations to distinguish the voltage operation.

What have I stupidly missed this time?

    In all of our linear regulators, that I know of, the device nomenclature looks like this.  The digits after the main part number identify the output voltage.  An "01" would be adjustable, and anything else is a fixed voltage.  There is normally a nomenclature table and description in the datasheet that specifies this just before the packaging section.  I didn't see it so I've added this to our datasheet correction log.

    Thank you for that clarification. Your answer was what I suspected but what really added to the confusion and threw doubt on it was the two statements in the Electrical Characteristics Grade 1 and 0 Options. Here it states that the 5V was “Vout(nom)” but the 3.3V was just “Vout”. Plus, there was no 2.5V option stated.
    Hopefully TI will resolve it.
