PSPICE-FOR-TI: PSPICE-FOR-TI: installation error 1099 sqlite

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

I tried installing PSpice for TI on my Windows 10 Pro (ver 1803) PC.  The progress bar reached ~80% and then failed installing sqliteodbcw64.exe.  Here's the end of the log file from .../Cadence/PspiceTIinstall:

  • Refer to cdsPspiceTIlog.txt at C:\Users\glen.marks\AppData\Roaming\Cadence\PspiceTIInstall for error details.

------------------------

I've tried re-downloading the installer files, installing to another drive, restarting the computer, and running the installer with administrator privileges, but the result is the same.

What is Error Code 1099 and how do I fix the problem?

Regards,

Glen

  • Hi Glen,

Would you please check the permission on the D: drive (first screenshot)?

    Thanks,
    JC

  • The D:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\tools\msbase\sqlite folder exists but it is empty.  The folder's permissions are set as follows:

    • Authenticated Users: modify, read&execute, list folder contents, read, write,
    • SYSTEM, Administrators: full control, modify, read&execute, list folder contents, read, write
    • Users: read&execute, list folder contents, read

I created the D:\Cadence folder prior to running the installer and it looks like the sqlite folder inherited its permissions from its parents all the way back to D:\Cadence.  What permissions are required for the installer to work?  Is the installer failing to create the file, or failing to access a non-existent file?

What does "Error Code: 1099" mean in the cdsPspiceTIlog.txt file?

  • Hi Glen,

Error 1099 is typically permission issue to windows temp directory.

The Feature transfer pop-up does not look like it's from PSpice for TI. Would you please check with your IT team to see if there's some sort of virus protection program or installation monitoring software that could be the origination for this?

    Thanks,
    JC

  • Hi Glen,

Would you please reboot your machine and try the installation again if you haven't tried that?

    Thanks,
    JC

  • The problem was my anti-virus tools were quarantining the file in question as part of a "potentially unsafe application".  I could workaround the problem by temporarily disabling the AV tool during the install.  I hope there is  no malware piggybacking on PSpice and it was just a false positive by the AV tool.
