CC2652RB: How to use DLP-7970ABP with CC2652RB

Part Number: CC2652RB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP-7970ABP

Hi folks, I've been trying to use the DLP-7970ABP NFC booster plugin (TRF7970ABP) with my CC2652RB Launchpad.

It seems the NFC Booster plugin is not compatible with all Launchpads, just 3 of them looking at the spec sheet.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the booster plugin with the multiprotocol launchpad? What's the best way to get started? Thanks!

  • Hi Bruno,

I think the first thing you should look at is the pinout of your device. Assuming this datasheet corresponds to your product version number, it seems to me like it would be possible from strictly a hardware perspective to interface with the boosterpack (Power and GND pins are the same, and all relevant IOs seem to be reachable by the remaining pins. That being said, you'll need to verify yourself, and then you may need to write more custom code for the device because it's not built to interface with the CC2652RB. But, from a brief look at the datasheet, it looks like it's controlled over SPI, which should be no issue for the CC2652RB device. You might also consider reaching out directly to DLP Design Directly for more help. I'd suggest getting both boards and seeing what you can do.

    Best,

    Nate
