CC2640R2F: UART RX not working

Hello,

UART RX pin on c2640r2f launchpad is not working. I tried disconnecting debugger header, have no effect. Same with RX pin on debugger header.

What strange is that UART connection/emulation via debugger seem to work.

Is there any other options I can try?

Vladimir,

Can you try running one of the included UART examples from the CC2640R2 SDK? Can you elaborate on your hardware setup as well? Are you referring to the UART over the USB debugger, or do you have another device connected to the device?

for the sake of simplicity:
uartecho example from SDK:
UART over onboard USB debugger - everything works.
External UART source - TX from CC2640R2 works, RX does not.

Vladimir,

I would recommended setting BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART=0 and BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART_ANSI=0 in the project predefine symbols to disable the backchannel UART and UART display driver from using the UART. You should also remove the RXD and TXD jumpers from the debug header.

How is the UART device connected?
