CC2642R-Q1: Configuration for Stereo Hybrid ANC

Hello, Team,

Customer is planning to use TLV320AIC3254-Q1 * 2pcs for their stereo hybrid ANC application.
Also, they are currently considering CC2642 as a host MCU.

1. CC2642 only has one I2C whereas two SPI interface; could single CC2642 control 2 TLV320ACI3254-Q1 or do we need a separate host MCU?

2. TLV320AIC3254-Q1 requires MCLK input of 12MHz; can CC2642 output such clock or do we need additional crystal oscillator?

Hello Masaru,

1. You can use a single CC2642R-Q1 to control both TLV320AIC3254-Q1 devices. I recommend a single I2C bus or SPI daisy-chain configuration.

2. The general purpose timers can be sourced by the 48 MHz clock without a prescaler so it should be possible to output a 12 MHz signal using PWM.

-> Since the I2C address of TLV320AIC3254-Q1 is fixed, does it not conflict if two ACI3254 with same I2C address is connected to a single I2C bus? Is there a way to avoid this?

I assumed the I2C address of the TLV320AIC3254-Q1 could vary, yet the datasheet implies that multiple devices on a single bus can be supported. I recommend that you contact the Audio Forum for their expert advice.
