CC2640R2F: Can TX but not RX over external antenna

Hello,

I have been working on a custom device that uses CC2640R2F modules (SABLE-X-R2 is the module number) and we just transitioned from using modules with onboard trace antennas to modules that use external SMA connectors and antennas. In testing, I cannot get the simple_central project to get any scan results on the new board but I can get the simple_peripheral project to transmit advertisements.

Are there any technical reasons that a BLE module would be able to transmit over an antenna but not receive any advertisements over that antenna? The PCB looks ok to me, and I figured any problems with the board would mean no TX or RX would be possible.

Hello Erik,

So that we can better identify the issue, could you use RF Studio to try to send and receive either a packet or carrier wave?

Using RF Studio it looked like both TX and RX were working well. Knowing that, I was able to dig around and find that there was an assembly issue with a part the module was communicating with on the PCB which was stalling the code preventing any scanning from occurring.
