CC2540: QDID confirmation

Part Number: CC2540
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BLE-STACK

Hi Team,

A customer want to know the QDID of cc2540 module (attached photo).

After retrieving the information registered in "cc2540", multiple problems will appear.

Because the old module (Bluetooth 4.0) is used, it seems to be a module around 2012.

I don't know which one.

Can you clarify this issue?

  • Hi Frank,

I recommend leveraging the document (, especially the table 2-2. named "QDIDs for CC254x".

Let us know if you need more guidance.

    Best regards,

  • Hi clement,

I knew this report, but could you please provide more details.

Do I need to confirm the module use?

Then select corresponding 'Design Model Number' and find the correct QDID.

Core Spec Features'V4.0' means this QDID also suitable for BT 4.0? right?

I'm a layman on BT product, I had provided this table to customer,

but he also donot know which number should be selected.

  • Hi Frank,

Generally speaking we recommend the customers to talk to their Bluetooth Qualification Consultant (BQC) when help is required with the Bluetooth qualification process.

I am not sure I will manage to give you much more precise guidance than the ones available in the app note:

"The CC254x family, together with the BLE-Stack, has qualified subsystems that can be referred to when listing your product. The Controller subsystem includes RF PHY testing performed on TI evaluation boards. As this RF PHY testing is not representative for your specific HW, the test facility may request PHY testing on your product in order to ensure it meets the requirements

Follow these steps to create a product listing:
1.Navigate to the Bluetooth SIG qualification page [9] - Select "Path 2: Qualification Process with No Required Testing".
2.Reference the TI Controller and Host QDIDs from Section 2.2.1.
3.The remaining steps are self-explanatory when you are actually doing it. It is basically just a series of one-option buttons to click on."

When it comes to the Bluetooth version, please note that the two QDIDs are Bluetooth 5.0 compliant. The features supported are the ones from the Bluetooth 4.0 version - please refer to the QDID pages for details on the feature supported.

Let me know if you have more questions,

    Best regards,
