CC2642R-Q1: Multiple BLE connections between one smartphone and one CC2642R-Q1

Part Number: CC2642R-Q1

Hello.

We implement BLE Service using SIMPLE LINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK_5.20.00.52 and CC2642R-Q1.

If I use CC2642R-Q1 as Peripheral, is it possible to establish two BLE connections between it and one smart phone?
I am assuming a use case where two apps are installed on a smartphone, and each app establishes a connection to one Peripheral.

If this is possible, I assume that the smartphones will have the same device address, but will this affect the bonding and encryption on the Peripheral side?

  • Hi,

I don't think things are going to work that way. As you have mentioned, devices have only one address so you cannot establish two connections between them.

Usually, for this type of use case, only one connection is established. Then, encryption is made at the application level - otherwise one application could access the data send/received by the other.

I would recommend to contact the support of iOS/Android for more details on this type of use case.

    Best regards,
