You can click on the update service at the top right corner of the start page panel. There are 5 patches for 2.8.0, which include support for new SDKs like v5.20. The next release of SENSOR-CONTROLLER-STUDIO is planned for January 2022, and it will support the v5.40 SIMPLELINK-CC13XX-CC26XX-SDK.  You can click on the "Subscribe to alerts" button on the SCStudio product page to get an e-mail when the update is provided online.
