Good Day.

Customer purchased HM-10 module with CC2541 on the module.

He wants to ask if he can use it with Packet Sniffer Software.

If yes, is there any guide line or module that can help him with his query.

Hi Ray,

Have them use PACKET-SNIFFER (version 1) with the C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware\sniffer_fw_cc2540_uart.hex loaded on the device as the CC2541 is binary compatible but does not support USB.

You should be able to accomplish this using the Flash Programmer. If they don't already have one then a debugger/programmer like the CC-DEBUGGER will be necessary as well.

If customer doesn't even have CC-DEBUGGER to program CC254x, I would suggest your customer to buy LAUNCHXL-CC26X2 to act as sniffer. It will be more easier and cost effective.
