SIMPLELINK-CC13XX-CC26XX-SDK: Where is the CCS compiler folder in examples for V6.20.00.29?

Part Number: SIMPLELINK-CC13XX-CC26XX-SDK

Hi all,

First of all, this question is not for "Bluetooth forum" but it didn't let me choose anything else.

Now for the real question, what happened to the "CCS compiler" examples TIRTOS7? This has always been the way I used the projects to CCS, now I can't find them from version 6.20.00.029..

  • Hi JD,

The CCS compiler has been deprecated in favor of the TI-CLANG compiler: https://e2e.ti.com/f/1/t/1018238

You will need to import a TI-CLANG example and migrate accordingly.

  • Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for letting me know.

It's a bit annoying that TI is changing so much lately, for someone who has been developing since last year, it's becoming very hard and exhausting to keep up with the changes, not to mention the delays it causes to the development cycle.

I'm used to the CCS environment now, so how do I use TI-CLANG? All the simplelink tutorials are still based on CCS so I have no idea how to use TI-CLANG and I don't see any tutorial or labs on the academy about it? How do I get started with it? How can I compile my project? Do I still use CCS with TI Clang? How do I debug stuff?

    Thanks

  • I am sorry to hear that TI's latest updates are causing you frustration and delays.  You can choose to remain on an existing SDK which contains the legacy TI-ARM compiler if necessary for your project's needs.  Here is a link to the TI-CLANG User's Guide, including details notes on migrating.  Hopefully you will discover that there are minimal application differences.

    Regards,
    Ryan
