CC2642R: power saving disable and enable does not work properly

Hi Jameel,

I understand that you are most likely evaluating a GPTimer project, have you also evaluated the TI Drivers Power Management documentation and Power.h TI Driver API to further determine how to enable/disable standby mode?  Can you provide a code snippet of your implementation to give a better idea of what is causing the behavior?

Tried it, I immediately lose timers precision

XOSC_HF stays on during Idle mode and should not affect GPTimer precision in accordance with the TRM.  What is your total power consumption in both power and non-power saving modes?  How inaccurate are the timers during Idle operation?

power consumption with power saving is about 700uA

power consumption without power saving is about 2.6mA

Timers can go off by about 100us 

It takes 14 µs to go from idle to active, Idle consumes 675 µA and active is 3.39 mA.  There will be a tradeoff between accurate fast timing and low power consumption.  You may consider using SENSOR-CONTROLLER-STUDIO to driver your timers with a 24 MHz clock.
