SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK: Inquery about CC2340R5 SDK with CC2340R5RGE Package

Part Number: SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5, SYSCONFIG

There is no CC2340R5 part discussion area, So I inquire here instead.

Hello. I am currently designing with CC2340R52E0RGER (QFN24) package.

For basic testing I want to make simple firmware with Sysconfig tool.

After setting the tool and clicked the 'start' button, it didn't work. See picture below.

Here's my settings.

There was no problem using other packages (RHB, RKP)

Did I set something wrong?

Please check this inquery and repl me.

Thanks.

  • Hello yunho,

You should be using the SysConfig support package provided with the CC2340RX-PREVIEW.  There are further instructions in the Quick Start Guide provided as part of the simplelink_cc23xx_sdk_6_20_00_02 documentation.

Please note that SysConfig is necessary for generating supporting project files but will not solely create buildable firmware.  You will need to import a simplelink_cc23xx_sdk_6_20_00_01_eng\examples\rtos\LP_EM_CC2340R5 example into CCS for further project evaluation.

    Ryan

  • Thank for reply Ryan.

I already installed all the softwares from the 'simplelink_cc23xx_sdk_6_20_00_02 doc.'.

Also I imported the examples in the SDK, but all the examples couldn't change to 'RGE' package.

I found similar case in china E2E. Please refer to the link below.

    https://e2echina.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/sub-1-ghz/f/sub-1-ghz-forum/290460/cc2340r5-rge-qfn24

I think TI's help should be provided to resolve this issue.

  • I apologize for missing the RGE dependency.  If you review the SDK SysConfig metadata then you would discover that it does not yet support this package.  Until this is updated in the SDK you could try to modify the RKP project with SysConfig "Use Custom Board" to re-map pins towards those available on the RGE package.  I have not personally attempted this and am not capable of reading the linked thread for further insight.

    Ryan

  • Thanks for reply Ryan.

I will wait for the SDK to be updated.
