Hi,

We are using CC2651R3SIPAT0MOUR for one of the product design as per the data sheet PCB to be designed with 4 layer and with specified core and prepeg. Is there any alternate PCB layout design for 2 layer PCB. In our design we have PCB with constraint, we cannot increase the PCB with more than 25mm.

Please suggest.

Hi Kuch,

Thanks for sharing the link of CC2650EMK. CC2651R3SIPAT0MOUR has internal antenna, but the CC2650EMK designed with external PCB antenna + SMA connector.

In our PCB design we followed as per the layout guidance but with 2 layer. If we are going with 2 layer design, do we have to use external antenna (PCB) for better performance.

Hi Sreekanth,

I am currently discussing the viability of a 2-layer design with this particular device as deviating from the reference design of 4 layers would invalidate the guaranteed performance and test results that comes with a system-in-package device like this one.

Hi Sreekanth,

Unfortunately, there are no simple workaround for your request. If you want the 2-layer design then an external antenna and additional testing is required.
