CC2650: Cannot connect CC2650 to CCS

Hi Hamad,

Can you confirm whether you are able to use Uniflash or Flash Programmer 2 to program the CC2650 LaunchPad?  Do you have any other LAUNHCXL-CC2650 or computers (preferably native Windows 10) to test?

I didn't use either of those programs, just connected the board to my laptop and connected via SimpleLink to my phone. As for native Windows 10 I don't have anything (closest is native Windows 11). 

Can you try using the other programs?  Is this LaunchPad new out-of-box with all XDS110 jumpers properly connected?  Also, did you try to use the xdsdfu utility as advised?  See this XDS110 Product Page for more information.

I'll take a look at these programs. I don't have the physical XDS110 debugger, just the debugger that is on the board itself. 

All I did was install CCS and follow the steps that are found on the Getting Started Guide. 

Could you send a link to the xdsdfu utility?

Following the instructions from the XDS110 Product Page, xdsdfu is located under C:\ti\ccs1220\ccs\ccs_base\common\uscif\xds110 on my PC.

Hi, I followed the steps to locate the xdsdfu and followed the steps that were listed in the Product Page under Manual Update, and I received this error: 

USB Device Firmware Upgrade Utility
Copyright (c) 2008-2019 Texas Instruments Incorporated. All rights reserved.

Scanning USB buses for supported XDS110 devices...

Found 0 devices.

The device is connected via USB and is showing a green light next to the debug probe. 

Either error indicates that the environment is not aware of any XDS110 connection.  This issue could be related to your Windows VM not being allowed access to the macOS Serial Ports.  You should try to connect outside of the VM or verify your VM settings.  Here also is a link to the XDS Emulation Software.

So I was able to switch to a machine that has Windows 10 natively, and that is where I tried to use the xdsdfu utility, which is how I got the error I mentioned above. 

Did you try using the Windows 10 machine with any other software programs (CCS, Uniflash, Flash Programmer) and do you have a second LaunchPad to test as well?

Tried to use Uniflash and CCS, still unable to detect the board. No I do not have another launchpad. 

Yes I tried to flash the bootloader using the xdsdfu but unfortunately it wasn't able to recognize that the debugger was connected via USB, I'll mark this as the solution since it may be a faulty debugger, thanks for your help.
