CC2640R2L: Information required to fill Bluetooth SIG RF Testing questionnaire from BQC for End product listing

Part Number: CC2640R2L

Hi,

Can you please share the following information to fill the following questionnaire requested by BQC or point me to the document where I can find the following information ?
Supported Power Class: 1 ,2 or 3 ?

Supported Power Control: (Yes/NO) ? If yes then Timer value for TX power control ?

Supported packet length: 1-slot, 3-slot and 5-slot ?

Support for GFSK Modulation ? In-band Image frequency relative to the carrier (MHz) and Value n for Inter-modulation test ?

Enhanced power control (Yes/No) ?

Maximum TX mode output power?  (dBm)

SUPPORT OF STABLE MODULATION INDEX ?

SUPPORT OF CODED MODE: Max and min tx and rx packet length?

SUPPORT OF TRANSMITTING CONSTANT TONE EXTENSIONS?

Thanks

  • Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. We will look into and get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, the following reference may be helpful:

How to Certify Your Bluetooth Product

  • Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

In case you have not mentioned it yet, the CC2640R2L has several end product listing QDIDs. These QDIDs should make the certification process easier, so I'd encourage you to reference them if not already done - please see details in table §2-3 of the How to Certify Your Bluetooth Product app note.

Then, it seems there is a mix-up on the questions you are asking. Some of the questions are for Bluetooth Classic devices. For this reason, I have answered the questions I think are relevant (i.e. I have removed and added questions to the list). Let me know in case I have missed something. As you asked for references, I have mentioned where the information can be found (for reference only).

Does your device support Bluetooth RF? NO => skip all the questions in the section

Does your device support Bluetooth Low Energy (RFPHY)? Yes => cf. datasheet

    Supported Power Class: 1 ,2 or 3 ? CSA5 Power Class 1.5 (max +10 dBm) => cf. datasheet

Maximum TX mode output power?  (dBm)  5 dBm => cf. datasheet

Supported roles? Transmitter, Receiver, Transceiver  => cf. datasheet

Inband and Intermodulation values are provided in §2.4 of How to Certify Your Bluetooth Product (they are respectively -2 and 3)

Packet length: 37 (because DLE is not available)

Supported interface? HCI, baudrate: 115200 => cf. configuration of the host_test example used for certification

Support of Bluetooth 5 features: No (because of Bluetooth stack uses spec 4.x)

Support of stable modulation index: No (because of Bluetooth stack uses spec 4.x)

Support of coded mode: No (because of Bluetooth stack uses spec 4.x)

Support of transmitting constant tone extensions: No (because of Bluetooth stack uses spec 4.x)

Support of antenna switching: No (because of Bluetooth stack uses spec 4.x)

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,

  • Thanks Clément. This helps. One final question: Our application uses data length extension and supports 255 bytes packet length. Do we have to modify host test to accommodate data length extension? Or we can go with the sdk example for certification purposes and use 37 bytes ?

  • Hi,

If you are using DLE, set Packet Length to 255. No changes in the host_test example will be required (the test script used at the test house will ensure to properly set up the packet size)

    Best regards,
