Hi Team,

We have LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 sample , Using in Bluetooth qualification lab to check our tester on regular basis .

We want to execute RFPHY,LL,4.0 HCI test cases . For RFPHY it was working fine but while trying for LL we reset the board using simplelink SDK & Code composer studio .

Can you please share Firmware to flash and procedure for RFPHY Low Energy And for protocol LL,4.0 HCI.

Thank you for reaching out.

I believe you are asking for the host_test example that is included in the SDK in <SDK>\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\blestack\host_test

As you are running the tests on a LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2, you can directly use the pre-compiled file <SDK>\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\blestack\hexfiles\cc2640r2lp_host_test.hex. For convenience I am attaching the pre-compiled host_test image from simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_5_30_00_03 /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/538/1376.cc2640r2lp_5F00_host_5F00_test.hex

If you need access to the whole SDK, you can either use CCS Cloud (https://dev.ti.com/) or download it from https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK

Hi,

The .hex file is the firmware to flash on the CC2640R2 to achieve the tests.

UniFlash (https://www.ti.com/tool/UNIFLASH) should be used to flash the device.

Great to see the progress.

The tests related to Protocol LL, 4.0HCI should already be covered by the QDID 180401 - see https://www.ti.com/ble-qualification for more details.

I am not building any product . i am using LaunchXL-CC2640R2 as reference golden sample to verify our test equipment . so we want to execute LL, and 4.0 HCI . Can you please share Firmware for same .

Will the launchXL-CC2640R2 support LL (Link Layer) and HCI (Host Controller Interface)? Can this board be used for Bluetooth Low Energy Controller Protocol?

Could you please share the firmware for Bluetooth Low Energy Controller Protocol?

Hi,

As indicated before, the LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 is covered by the QDID 180401. You can find the same on the Bluetooth website - https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/139342

For convenience, the list of supported layers is copied here:

The CC2640R2 device can be interfaced through HCI using BTool - ensure the device is flash with the host_test firmware. BTool is delivered within the SDK.

If you are looking for a device capable of behaving as controller-only, you should consider looking at the CC2340 devices.
