Balun for CC2540

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540, CC2530, CC2530TDKBALUN-RD

Hello,

im developing a wearable sensor application with the CC2540 chip, where space on the pcb is really limited. Therefor i'd like to use a chip antenna together with a blaun instead of the recommanded discreet matching network.

I found two baluns: One from TDK [1] and one from Johnson [2]. Both of them claim to be suitable for both CC2530 and CC2540. But it seems to me that they where actually made for the CC2530.

Comparing the two datasheets i found that the optimum load impedance for CC2530 is 69+29j whereas the one for CC2540 is 70+30j. This does not seem to be a big difference but then again i wonder if i'll have reduced perfomance when using one of this baluns with the CC2540.

Can you give me some advice in this matter?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel
