CC2642R-Q1: About Channel Sounding supported devices

Part Number: CC2642R-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5

Tool/software:

Hi,

Thank you for your answers about CC2642 in the QA below.

Is it my understanding that the CC2642 does not have the capability to support Channel Sounding as an HW?

(Even if the SDK is updated, it is not possible to respond.Or does it mean that HW can be supported, but the SDK is not updated because it is an old chip? )

In addition to the CC2642, are there any other chips that will support Channel Sounding?

Looking at the E2E QA below, CC2340R5 will it be supported?

Best regards,

  • Hello Masaki,

The CC2642 will not support Channel Sounding. The CC2642 SDK will not be updated to support Channel Sounding. The CC2642 SDK will continue to be updated, but no Channel Sounding features will be included.

The CC2340R5 will support Channel sounding, and for more details on other devices that will support Channel Sounding, please reach out to your FAE.

    Thanks,
    Isaac
