CC2652PSIP: BLE qualification query

Part Number: CC2652PSIP

Tool/software:

Hi Experts,

We would like to go through Bluetooth SIG qualification with our CC2652PSIP design.

We are using QDID  225762 according to TI-Appnote: "How to Certify Your Bluetooth Product "

While investigating the DID we found the following profile we are not using in our end-product. Do we still have to list it in our qualification process ?

We also found a Profile called "Interoperability Test Suite." Can you quickly explain  this profile ?

Regards,

Alex

  • Hi Alex,

    Thank you for reaching out.

But, in a nutshell, I recommend to keep the ICS as-it (i.e. without removing features) as you expose yourself for incompliances and trigger a bunch of re-assessments that end up being either impossible to run or costly.

For this reason, I recommend to keep the DIS – even if it is not in the final design – and leave the Interoperability Test Suite untouched.

For reference, the Interoperability Test Suite is a mandatory – and fairly new – collection of tests that should ensure interoperability of the stack with other Bluetooth versions and other devices supporting a different collection of Bluetooth features. The Interoperability Test Suite impacts the stack – not the PHY – and should then not have any impact on ABB efforts for qualification.

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,
