PAN1323 3Mbps firmware?

Hi,

I'm working on second revision of a BeagleBone cape that integrates the PAN1323 module allowing the BB to stream to BT speakers. Primary usage will be for A2DP streaming..

On the first revision I used the PAN1325 and got the streaming working quite well with Bluez and TIInit_6.6.15.bts built for 3Mbps UART baud rate. All audio is transferred through the HCI interface, no I2S used.. But I started seeing consistent and periodic cutouts while streaming with the same FW and SW and the new 1323 module.

Is it that I need a different .bts file? Most likely that is the case.. But on the CC256x download page I see a FW file only for 115,2kbps baud rate.

Where can I find 3Mpbs one?

Hi,

As you can see from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Downloads , the InitScript(FW file) is different.

Using the Bluetooth hardware evaluation tool(BHET) you can modify baud rate for the CC256x FW file.
You can get the BHET tool from the CC256x main wiki page http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x

I think the name of the file should not change.
Anyway from your logger logs, you will see the below log. Mind that X will be a valid number example TIInit_6.6.15.bts. You can name your FW file accordingly.

uim:firmware requesting TIInit_X.X.XX.bts

Another drawback I am faced for PAN 1323 module is the range of the communication decreses when this module is configured as a Source .

I used Stellaris LM3S9D96B with the PAN module as a daughter card .
