Hi,

Can anyone please tell us the api's to check the current tx power level?. And also api's to set the tx power level of CC2640?

I have used the HCI_ReadTransmitPowerLevelCmd() api to check the current tx power level but it always returns 0 value. And we have set the tx power level using HCI_EXT_SetTxPowerCmd() api to 4 dbm. Please let us know if there are any api's to check the set power level. Thank you.!

Hi Ankit,

Yes the function (somehow not included in the HCI guide) would return HCI_SUCCESS (0x00) and provide the power level through a HCI command complete event.

The API to set the power level is called HCI_EXT_SetTxPowerCmd and is documented in the TI BLE Vendor Specific HCI guide found with the BLE stack documentation.

Thanks for your quick reply. Can you please tell me the API to read the current tx power level? Are there any register setting to change the Tx as well as Rx power & gain so that we can modify those resisters directly?

You are using the correct command but there is no need to read it back as the stack will use whatever your application have given as argument using HCI_EXT_SetTxPowerCmd . RX gain is not configurable by the application but set to the optimal value by the radio firmware during reception.
