Hi all,

I want to know if i can send file(size around 15-20kb) in shorter duration from CC2541 module to mobile phone?Can anyone please suggest

1)how much time it will take to transfer this much file size?

2)which protocol will be suitable for this application and any sample application for this?

3)Does CC2541 support classic bluetooth in which data transfer rate is very high(around 2MBps)?

1. You can try to refer to processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2540_Data_Throughput
2. You just send user data bytes sent in GATT notifications.
3. No, CC2541 only supports BLE.

1)In CC2541 datasheet, its mentioned "Supports 250-kbps, 500-kbps, 1-Mbps, 2-Mbps Data Rates". What this data rate correspond to?
2)As you said "You just send user data bytes sent in GATT notifications." Which sample application implements it? I have tested sending 6bytes from cc2541 module using sensortag project. Can i be able to send file(20kb) in this sensortag project?

1. It is 1M bps.
2. There is source code in the ZIP file that you can download from processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2540_Data_Throughput

1)Do you mean maximum data rate of BLE transfer is 1Mbps?
2)I am really confused what's actual data rate of BLE transfer. somewhere its mentioned 1Mbps,somewhere its 100kbps and somewhere its maximum 5-6kbps.

Here you can see data rate mentioned as 100kbps. In so many posts of e2e forum people are discussing that maximum throughput achieved by them is around 5-6kbps(less than 10kbps).

1M bps is the data rate used in MAC/PHY level. In BLE application, you can't hit that data rate. According to the test on CC2540, it can have 5.9K bytes per second.

Hi Yikai,
1)As you had told to use "GATT_WriteLongCharValue" for sending files but i couldn't find definition of this function in the project.
2)Is there any sample application which utilizes sending files using BLE?
