I have a reference board from TI - ISBA-EVM-00374 ISE4018A

and the documentation for it, I got from website ti.com/lit/ug/tidu797d/tidu797d.pdf.

The problem is I cannot see any BLE packets coming out from this board on a Bluetooth packet capture device from TI.

I have changed few batteries on it and nothing seem to work.

My questions are

1) Does this board work

2) If it does - does it come loaded with software or do I need to load software on it

3) If it does not come loaded with software then from where do I get the software to run on it.

Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Hi Tony,

1) The hardware is probably fine - as you suspect, it's probably a firmware issue.

2) The firmware is on the TI Design page, under software: www.ti.com/.../TIDA-00374

3) Same as the link above. You'll have to flash it with a debugger -

Is this the firmware you are mentioning. I can see two files within this

TIDA00374-Firmware.exe and IMP NOTICE FOR REF DESIGNS.pdf

Is TIDA00374-Firmware.exe the file that I need to flash.

Sorry I should have been more clear -

Run that executable, it'll ask you for a location to save the CCS project for the firmware, along with the firmware itself. There's a .out file that you can flash using SmartRF Flasher 2.

You can also import the CCS project and build the output files yourself and debug it.

Thanks Rebel for your response. When I execute the TIDA00374-Firmware.exe - it is asking - "Please specify the directory where TIDA-00374 Firmware will be installed".

I installed it in C:\TI directory on my machine. I cannot find a.out file. I have attached snapshot of how the directory structure looks like.

Could you please help me with how to import a CCS project and build the output files.

Rebel - Thanks for the information. After following the README.txt - here are the errors that I'm seeing.

Is it possible for us to do a webex session. That would help expedite it. I have followed the instructions verbatim.

Hi Tony,

It appears you don't have the right version of TI RTOS installed - (do you have BLE stack installed too?)

Either way, it might save you some time if you just flash the .out file in the same directory as the readme. Can you load that in SmartRF Programmer 2?

From the resource explorer - I installed the following

(1) TI-RTOS for CC13xx and CC26xx
(2) CC26xx Bluetooth smart.

I'm assuming (1) above gave me the required RTOS . I'm assuming (2) above gave me the BLE stack.

Let me know if my assumptions are not correct.
