Hi Team –

Posting this on behalf of customer.

When considering the CC2564MODA, is writing the application all that is required to get SIG approval (would like to avoid the delay in getting approval)?

Looking at the CC2564MODN, with using an external antenna, how is the BT Sig certification impacted?

Hi Dan,

Both CC2564MODA and the CC2564MODN have Bluetooth SIG QDIDs for controller subsystem. Depending on which Bluetooth stack is used, there are QDIDs for the Host subsystem and Profile subsystem. The QDID (Controller Subsystem) for the CC2564MODA is 64631.

After that you can list the 3 QDIDs in End Product Listing (EPL) application of the BT SIG.

Hello Vihang,

Thank you for the answer. So if we understand correctly. Even is we use an external antenna we will not have to requalify the module CC2564MODN with the SIG. Is this correct?

Hello Vihang,

We are also have a question regarding the CC2564 Regulatory certifications. Is the LTA-5320-2G4S3-A1.the only antenna that certification was performed on? More importantly which US channels source this antenna. Thanks in advance.

Hello Vihang,

One final question. On the link provided there is a diagram that shows the process for QID using the TI BT stack (host and profile). In the figure it shows BLE, does this mean that only the BLE portion of the dual mode had a QID or does the TI stack QUID cover both the BT and the BLE for the dual mode CC2564. Thanks in advance for the answer.

Hello Randy,

Regarding BT SIG questions.

- Yes. even if you change the antenna used with the CC2564MODN, you will not have to requalify CC2564MODN with the BT SIG. More details can be found on BT SIG website. Reference

- The diagram is accurate for dual-mode bluetooth deives as well as BLE devices. But for all detail covering all possible scenarios, please see the reference document above.

I will make a seperate post below regarding the regulatory certification (i.e. FCC) to avoid mixing up regulatory certification info with the SIG info.

Hi Randy,

Yes, the CC2564MODN tests for regulatory certification were performed with the LTA-5320-2G4S3-A1 antenna. It is a chip antenna by Mag Layers USA, Inc. The datasheet can be found at the link below.

Hello Vihang,

Thank you for all of the answers. We have a couple of follow on questions.

1- For one of our applications we need to support WIN CE7. Using the stack QIDs 69887, 69886 would seem to be the correct option if we can use the TI stack. But our software group wonders if there is support for WIN CE 7?

2- We have a second product that uses Linux. For the Linux Drivers that have QIDs 37180 and 42849 it references Ubuntu. We need to be able to use these on RM 7 with Android. Is there support for this.

Basically is it possible for our developers to speak with support folks there to make sure that we can use these stacks in our products and retain the QIDs.

To add some detail to the above we are currently using the stacks below with the LSR WL1271-TIWI-BLE module. So specifically, is the TI stack on the CC2564MODN compatible with our existing software?

Hello Vihang,

If we are using an ARM7 on the NXP i.MX6 with Android can we use the LINUX stack QID 37180 and 42849 or do you have another QID that is applicable to this situation?

Hi Randy,

The host subsystem and profile subsystem QDIDs (69886 and 69887) are for ti dual mode bluetooth stack (tibluetoothstack-sdk). This stack is not available for android or windows CE. If the ti bluetooth stack for Linux is used on iMX6 running linux, you can use the host and profile subsystem QDIDs listed on the TI-BT-STACK-LINUX-ADDON page.
