Hi,

I would like to try doing the Single Chip Flow Metering Solution. I have CC2640R2F LP and BOOSTXL-ULPSENSE. I read the document and it seems to mention to use Inductive type Flow Meter. From my research in the internet the Inductive Type is the industrial type and is expensive. The Flow Meter I can buy locally is the magnetic type, see link below. Will that work also?

Hi Markel,

The tech note you refer to use the updated Sensor Controller on CC13x2/CC26x2 to be to implement a low power flow meter. The flow meter you are linking to use a hall effect sensors which output pulses proportional to the speed of the rotation. This method is very different from the inductive flow meter we have on BOOSTXL-ULPSENSE, which use inductors that are controlled by the Sensor Controller and therefore consume very low current. You can use the Sensor Controller to calculate the flow for the above meter, and you use the TDC or a timer to calculate the flow, but you cannot expect the same low power performance.

So I need a metal disc to put on top of the BOOSTXL-ULPSENSE as illustrated. I can not buy it from any store. I need to make it. How does the metal disc become a part of the flow meter?

Would be great if there is a video demoing this and then posted at Texas Instruments Youtube Channel.
