CCS/DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO: sensortag_light example project, is it meant to do anything?

I'm trying to get started with this DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO board for the CC2650 SensorTag. Built the stack and the app projects and flashed them into the device. No green led flashing, suggesting that it's trying to pair and establish a connection, no led activity at all, no sign of it in a scan. Is that project for another board. I must have missed the readme file, is it in an obvious place to everyone else? Then I looked at the documentation for the device:

most informative to quote the document "Install devpack firmware from the app"

I always assume that the "dev" means development, which means that I should be able to write firmware and flash it into the device. So I need an app to flash the device. So what are the steps build the projects (Stack and App) on a Windows VM, (because of course the BLE stack is shipped as an exe file), transfer the resulting binary files to a smart phone, Find some sort of App for my smart phone and then try and flash the CC2650 with new firmware from the App.

I hope that's not the required workflow but given the documentation "Install devpack firmware from the app" I guess it could be anything.

Which BLE Stack and example do you use, latest BLE Stack 2.2.2 doesn't include DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO example for CC2650STK. Do you have spesific reason to use DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO?

Yes I have a specific reason for using the DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO it was selected by other people, (management types) as a simple way to light an LED. So they went with this product for ease of development. I could have told them about that if they'd asked.

I'll code around the issue by reading the data sheet and outputting the necessary signal on a GPIO Pin. Oh yeah the data sheet says connect the app and download the firmware. This is funny. ;)

Just out of interest in what version of the BLE Stack is the DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO Supported with an example project.

Struggling to find relevant information on the TI Website.

Hi John,

The app referred to is the TI SensorTag app.

Just so you know, the CC2650STK is an old development board and we do not update it frequently. If I were you I would rather start development on a CC2640R2F Launchpad.

As far as I am aware that project does not refer to, or make use of, the LEDs of the DEVPAC-LED-AUDIO expansion board.

Unfortunately management have made a decision and bought a number of these devices. Given the problems I've encountered with the devices I have here I would not advise using any TI Product. The "Data Sheet" for the DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO device does not inspire confidence.

That's the version I'm looking at currently and I'm not sure what example app you are suggesting exercises the DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO expansion board.

Actually, I would suggest you to use CC2650STK without the DEVPACK-LED-AUDIO expansion board.
