Hello,

I have my CC2650 SensorTag.

CC2650 SensorTag has IR temperature sensor and I want the temperature data to be sent wirelessly to a computer. Then, I can read the data from Com Port and do some analysis using LabVIEW. I have to finish this task in wireless approach. I want the data to be read from com port because it is the easiest way for me to get the sensor data to LabVIEW for analysis.

I have one idea which is using CC2540 Usb dongle and I have it right now. However, I have no idea on how to achieve my task. I think that the temperature data from CC2650 SensorTag can be wirelessly transmitted to the CC2540 Usb dongle, once the usb receives the data, I can read the data through Com Port using Putty, is this possible? If so, how can I achieve this?

I have searched from the Internet but it seems that there is not a complete solution. I am a beginner in this field and therefore any suggestions for me will be much appreciated!!

Hi Chan,
We do not have any automated ways to do that beyond using BTool (or device monitor) which require to manually setting up the connection and data stream.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I studied this document before. I wonder if I can get the temperature data in Putty. I successfully read the temperature data in BTool but when I tried to show the data in Putty, Putty shows nothing. Therefore, I wonder how to display the temperature data in com port so that the data can be shown in Putty.

BTool use HCI command which is in hex format for communication and Putty doesn't take hex format command.

I want to know are there any other possible methods (i.e., without using CC2540 USB Dongle) to display IR temperature data from sensortag in Com Port in a wireless approach? I want the values to be displayed in Com Port so that I can easily use LabView to get the data.
