CC2564MODN: How to make CC2564MODN into signaling mode in BLE?

Hi TI,

We can successfully implement the BT RF SIG Mode mentioned in TI document http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Testing_Guide. But unfortunately, CC2564MODN is only in classic mode not BLE mode.

I can see some transmitter and receiver test in that document also, which needs upper tester and lower tester. Is this the only way that we can implement BLE test? Is there a way to make CC2564MODN into SIG mode with BLE? It make tests much easier.

Fan,

The HCI_Enable_Device_Under_Test_Mode is for BR/EDR only. For BLE tests, the following commands are used.

HCI_LE_Transmitter_Test

HCI_LE_Receiver_Test

HCI_LE_Test_End

All of these commands are defined in Bluetooth core specification and used to perform standard BT SIG testing for BR/EDR or LE. It is Bluetooth standard and nothing TI or CC2564MODN specific.

Hi Vihang,

Thanks for your answer. We are using CMW500 to test BLE now. It is running at DTM (direct test mode), which using a USB to serial cable to connect between CMW and bluetooth module. We tried it, but does not work. One mystery is which mode we should put bluetooth module into, which command we should use?

Hi Vihang,

According to http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Testing_Guide#BLE_Testing

The Figure 1.2 of section 8 describe how to test BLE in Direct Test Mode. We followed the steps 1 to 4 of Transmitter Test. But our tester (CMW500) cannot connect with CC2564. Any suggestion?

I can find how to set device into DTM mode on CC2640, but cannot find anything related to CC2564.
