Hello Team,

We are using simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_30_00_28_BKP host test example with Pheripheral+Observer configuration in power saving mode.

Please confirm that CC2640R2F is in which mode Standby or Shutdown when we are not doing anything on device?

Please also support us to achieve low power consumption as showing in data sheet (1.1 uA in standby mode).

Hello Vijendra,

Please use the multirole example from simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_3_30_00_20.

When there is no activity (all tasks er Blocked) the device will automatically enter standby mode.

We are using Host Test example for our application.

So please suggest that how can we resolve same issue with host test application.

Hello Vijendra,

In order to properly manage the power domains of the device, there must be a way for an external host to wake the network processor from low power modes. This is done through the inclusion of the MRDY/SRDY signals/pins:

Hello Eirik,

We are using MRDY SRDY with power saving enable in Host test application.

When there is no activity or device in sleep then consumption of device is 65-70uA but as per data sheet in standby mode current consumption should be 1.1uA.

Please suggest how can we achieve this.

Hello Vijendra,

It is probably leakage through one or more IO pins.

Review your pin configuration (pin table in board file) and the peripherals that use IOs and reference your board.

Do you use the launchpad or a custom PCB?

For example, UART_RX pin is set to PIN_PULLDOWN in BoardGpioInitTable and then changed to NO_PULL when calling the UART_open. So it needs to be set high or low externally. If it is floating there can be some leakage current.

For the Launchpad: From Measuring CC13xx and CC26xx current consumption:

The UART driver in the SDK configures the UART RX pin without
internal pull-up. To avoid current leakage in the input buffer, the pin must always be firmly pulled to a
logic level. This can be achieved by keeping the RXD jumper on (connecting the debugger output to
the UART RXD input).
