CC2640R2F: CC-ANTENNA-DK2 2.4 GHz PCB Antenna?

Part Number: CC2640R2F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC-ANTENNA-DK2,

Hi,

From what I know the PCB Antenna at CC2640R2F Launchpad is the 2.4GHz inverted F Antenna. I am looking at the CC-ANTENNA-DK2 is the 2.4GHz inverted F Antenna Board 11 or Board 5.

To determine which is a better 2.4GHz PCB Antenna is it based on "efficiency average"?

From this document below, what is the meaning of EB, SA and USB?

  • Hi,

The inverted 2.4 GHz antenna is board number #11. Board number #5 is based upon the same antenna but as an antenna diversity variant. If you copy the design, base this on board number 11.

Normally, determine the performance by the average efficiency.

SA: Stand Alone. It was when the EM (Evaluation Module) was not inserted on the EB (Evaluation Board). Sometimes the EB attenuated the radiation. Hence, the reason to specify when the EM was tested with or without EB. USB was not tested on an EM/EB but on a USB style board.
