CC2650EM-4XS-RD: Changes in software/hardware configurations of the CC2650 chip

Part Number: CC2650EM-4XS-RD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650

Hi all,

I had used the CC2650 in an bluetooth embedded project in 2017-18 and the system worked perfectly then as intended!  Recently I re-manufactured the exact same PCB (with newly purchased components) and loaded the exact same project on CCS onto the MCU and the MCU consistently has a high current consumption with several high frequency current spikes up to 20mA. I debugged the hardware thoroughly but nothing has changed there from the previous setup or should lead to such high current consumption. I made sure I went back and am using the same CCS version (7.4.0), the same compiler (v5.2.6) and the same BLE stack (2.2.0) as before but the problem still exists. I know this might sound stupid but is there anything else that may change in background support software from TI which might cause the recently purchased CC2650 chips to consume more power than the 2017 chips with the exact same code or in other words, has there been any changes to the software/hardware configurations of the CC2650 chip over the last couple of years from TI? Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Partha
