CC2640R2F-Q1: ANCS for iOS need MFi cerification?

Part Number: CC2640R2F-Q1

Hi,

do we need MFi ceritifcation for ANCS accessory?

i understand it does not needed from below links but due to cross conflicts confidence is low.

Looks like we don’t need it,

but still if we have any expert in MFI certification domain, it will be good to take his/ her inputs.

iOS Bluetooth support is divided into four categories:

  • standard devices -- These are automatically supported by the system. The specific protocols are described in the following support document:

  • Bluetooth LE -- These are accessible via the Core Bluetooth framework
  • iOS-to-iOS Bluetooth networking
  • MFi -- Other devices must go through the MFi program

Can someone share the conclusion from past experience.
